Julio Jaramillo

Julio Alfredo Jaramillo Laurido ( born October 1, 1935 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, † February 9, 1978 ibid ), known as JJ, was one of the most important musicians of the Pasillo. His most famous song " Nuestro juramento " he published in 1956.

Life

Julio Jaramillo's parents were Apolonia Laurido and Juan Jaramillo. He had to participate in the shop of a shoemaker, because he came from a poor family at a young age. He grew up on with musical role models such as Olimpo Cárdenas, Carlos Infante Rubira and Guayaquil and Villafuerte - duet.

One of his first notable successes he achieved after recording his first album " Pobre mi madre querida " (1955), which he recorded as a duet with Fresia Saaverda. Then he pulled himself together with his mentor Carlos Infante Rubira the Pasillo " Esposa " and the following year the waltz " Fatalidad " which was played by both all radio stations in Ecuador as well as in some other countries. International recognition was him but only with the title " Nuestro Juramento " given, which led to numerous concert tours in Latin America.

Jaramillo finally returned in 1977 to Guayaquil back, but in poor health, so that he could attend to his death a year later, no gigs. He died in the night, a few seconds after he had to laugh at a joke. It is said that in the three days he showed up to his funeral, condolence over two hundred thousand people.

Jaramillo was the father of 42 children with different women in different Latin American countries. 39 of them were accepted, according to his eldest son Julio Jaramillo Sánchez as biological children. Several of his children were later even known singer and performer of the works of their father.
