Julius Keyl

Julius Keyl (born 8 December 1877 in Munich, † November 15, 1959 ) was a German track and field athlete and Olympian.

Keyl was a member of the MTV 1879 Munich. For the club he took part in the 1900 Olympics in Paris, where he however failed in qualifying in the 100 -meter run. In 1906 he also participated in the Summer Olympics in Athens.

1902 and 1904 he became German champion over this distance. In 1902 he ran the 4 x 100 - meter relay in 46.8 s world record. He was also an outstanding hurdler and improved in 1904 the German record in the 110- meter hurdles in 16.0 s

Julius Keyl had a competition weight of 59 kg at a height of 1.70 m.

After his playing career Keyl worked as a notary. In the South German Football Association, he remained the sport honorary connected.
