Julius Wegscheider

Julius August Ludwig Wegscheider ( born September 27, 1771 in Küblingen; † January 27, 1849 in Halle ( Saale) ), was a Protestant theologian and the most important dogmatic theology of rationalism.

Life

Wegscheider studied theology at the University of Helmstedt in the known theology professor Heinrich Philipp Konrad Henke and was then tutor to a family in Hamburg ( 1795-1805 ). In 1805 he was Repetent at the University of Göttingen in 1806 and took a position at the University of Rinteln as a professor of theology and philosophy at.

In this role, Wegscheider 1810 moved to the University of Halle, where the rationalist was reprimanded as alleged Verspotter of Christianity in 1830 by the government.
