Juliusz SÅ‚owacki

Juliusz Słowacki ( born September 4, 1809 in Kremenez (Polish: Krzemieniec ) in Volhynia, now in Ukraine; † April 3, 1849 in Paris) was a Polish poet. He came from the family Leliwa of the Polish gentry.

In addition to Adam Mickiewicz, he is regarded as the Polish national poet of romance. After studying in Vilnius, he emigrated to Paris, where he created his great dramas and lyrical epics.
