Jumeirah (hotel chain)

The Jumeirah Group (until 2005 Jumeirah International ) is an international hotel chain owned by the ruling family of Dubai, Al Maktoum, the responsibility of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the youngest son of the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and brother of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum (current ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates). Jumeirah is also part of Dubai Holding.

The group's name is derived from the Dubai's Jumeirah district, where some assets of the Group are.

Founded only in 1997, which specializes in luxury hotels group rapidly grew into one of the most famous and wealthiest hotel chains in the world, not least thanks to spectacular buildings such as the Burj Al Arab, the Dubai landmark and tallest hotel in the world and the third highest hotels in the world Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

While the hotel chain operating exclusively in the early years, investments in Dubai, it strives for some years increasingly to international destinations. In Europe, Jumeirah operates two hotels in London, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotelund the Jumeirah Carlton Tower. 2012 came the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca, the Jumeirah Via Veneto in Rome and the Pera Palace Hotel, Jumeirah in Istanbul so. The first hotel of the group in Germany was opened in August 2011 in Frankfurt am Main as part of the Grand Palais Quartier construction project.

Current Locations

As of February 2014, the company operates 18 hotels and three luxury residences with five-star hotel services in Asia and Europe. The only Jumeirah hotel in the German-speaking area is located in Frankfurt.
