Jumenbu

Jumenbao (Chinese拒 门 堡/拒 门 堡, Pinyin jùménbǔ ) is a fortress of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty in Datong in Shanxi province.

Jumenbao is located on a slope, 2.5 km from the Great Wall. The fort was built to protect the Ming Empire against the invasions and looting of the Mongolian nomads. The original name was Jumengbu, she was with the fortresses Zhenjiangbao (镇 羌 堡), Juqiangbao (拒 墙 堡) and Zhumabao (助 马 堡) part of belonging to the wall defense system (塞外 四 堡, Saiwai Sibao, four fortresses north of the Great Wall ').

The fortress is not large, it has only one wengcheng ( entrance via Barbican ) on the east side. The wall is built of rammed earth, mud brick as exterior cladding.
