Jun-iti Nagata
Jun- iti Nagata (Japanese长 田 润 一, Nagata Jun'ichi; * 1925, † 6 November 2007) was a Japanese mathematician.
Jun- iti Nagata received his doctorate in 1956 at the University of Osaka, led by Kiiti Morita. His main area of work was the topology, he is the author of the standard textbooks Modern Dimension Theory and Modern General Topology. His name is connected with the Metrisierbarkeits set of Bing - Nagata - Smirnov.
Nagata was Emeritus both the Osaka Kyoiku University, where he had taught ten years and the Dentsu Osaka University, where he taught five years.
