Action
The successful architect Flipper Purify black begins an affair with Italian Angie. As a result, the lives of both changes abruptly: Purify is left by his wife and moves in with his father. Angie is beaten by her father. The couple decides to contract. In the end, however, the relationship falls apart at the conflicts that arise.
Awards
Samuel L. Jackson was honored for his role as drug addict Gator Purify for Best Supporting Actor at the Cannes Film Festival in 1991. In addition, he received the same award at the Kansas City Film Critics Circle Awards, and the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. Spike Lee was awarded the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury - Special Mention at Cannes.
The title song Gotta Have You by Stevie Wonder was nominated for a Grammy in 1992 for Best Original Song.
