Junibacken

Junibacken is a museum in Stockholm, which is dedicated to the Swedish children's literature, especially the books of Astrid Lindgren. It is located on the Djurgården Peninsula.

The museum was opened by the Swedish royal family on June 8, 1996 and has around 400,000 visitors a year, one of the five most visited attractions in Stockholm.

In the center of the figures are from the most popular children's books of Astrid Lindgren, including Pippi Longstocking, Karlsson on the Roof, Ronia the Robber's Daughter, Emil of Maple Hills and the Brothers Lionheart, but other well-known Swedish children's book characters like Pettersson and Findus, Alfie Atkins and the Moomins. Changing special exhibitions devoted to individual authors. The museum also includes a children's bookstore and a theater.

The name comes from the estate of June jaws ( in German Birke Lund ), grows up on the Astrid Lindgren's fictional character Mardie.
