The 4th Junior Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 was the fourth edition of the competition, an international music competition of the European Broadcasting Union ( EBU) for young singers aged 8 to 15 years, as they were not allowed to join the Euro Vision Song Contest of age. The event was ( TVR ) organized by the public television of Romania and transmit clock from 20:15 Central European Time on December 2, 2006. Winners of the competition were the Tolmatchev Twins for Russia with the song Vesenniy jazz.

The show was broadcast live in the participating countries as well as in Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, also acquired the Australian broadcaster SBS broadcasting rights.

No longer participating countries

The Scandinavian countries - Denmark, Norway and Sweden - withdrew from the competition and instead organized as early as 2002 a purely Scandinavian competition, the Melodi Grand Prix Nordic in Stockholm. However, Sweden took over the private channel TV4 nevertheless in addition to the JESC part - so far the public broadcaster SVT beamed the EBU event.

The UK has also withdrawn. Since the first JESC 2003 ITV broadcast the event, because the BBC refused the offer of the EBU. After the contest was broadcast on ITV1 in 2003, he was relocated in subsequent years due to low viewing figures on ITV2 - 2006 was followed by the dismissal. Latvia also withdrew - mainly for financial reasons - but returned in 2010 and again in 2011 back.

Serbia and Montenegro in 2005 he took part, since Montenegro has, however, declared independence and the state of Serbia and Montenegro is no longer existent. The EBU granted the Montenegrin TV station RTCG extra time one, but ultimately rejected this invitation to this day (as of 2013) from.
