The 12th Junior Euro Song Contest 2014 will take place on the island of Malta. It is the third time overall and the second time in a row that the winner of the previous discharges competition since Gaia Cauchi won in 2013 for Malta with The Start. The host station is PBS.

According to a rule change may not be published as of this year before May 1 of each year the contributions.

It is for the first time in the history of JESC be no host city in the true sense, but a host island, so the whole of Malta.

  • Norway Norway - On December 18, 2013 confirmed the Norwegian TV channel NRK that Norway 2014 will not return to JESC.
  • Belgium - On 20 December 2013, the Flemish Ketnet station, which is operated by the Belgian broadcaster VRT and is responsible for hosting the Junior Euro Vision Song Contest in Belgium, that they had no interest in the Junior euro vision confirmed.
  • Denmark Denmark - Also the Danish transmitter DR confirmed on the same day that they would refrain in the near future to participate in the JESC.
