Junior Strous

Joseph "Junior" Strous ( born April 28, 1986 in Vlaardingen ) is a Dutch racing driver.

Career

After Strous in karting had been active, he moved in 2002 into formula racing. He competed in various championships and was rated sixth in the Benelux Formula Ford, seventh in the Dutch Formula Ford and 16 in the German Formula BMW. In 2003, he joined again in several racing series. The most successful was he in the Dutch Formula Renault, where he was runner-up, and in the Benelux BMW Compact Cup, where he won the championship title. He was also 20th in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. In 2004 we launched the Dutchman again in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and improved to 18th place in the championship. He was more successful in the Dutch Formula Renault Winter Series and the U.S. Formula Renault, where he each decided the championship titles.

In 2005, he played his third season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and finished with two podium finishes in seventh place overall. He also remained in the Dutch Formula Renault and was runner-up. In addition, he started to race two of the Nordic Formula Renault, he won both, and won the Winter Championship British Formula Renault. 2006 graduated Strous no full season in Formula racing and started to six races of the Italian Formula Renault, in which he twelfth, and four races of the Formula Renault 2.0 Euro Cup, in which he was 27. In touring car racing, he won for the second time the champion of the Benelux BMW Compact Cup and was runner-up in the Dacia Logan Cup Dutch.

2007 moved to North America Strous and went into the Atlantic Championship for Condor Motorsports at the start. With a fifth place as best result he finished the season in 14th place overall. 2008, the Dutch stayed with Condor Motorsports and won a race in the Atlantic Championship. In the overall classification, he finished fifth. In 2009 he moved to the Indy Lights to Winners Circle Group. Although he chose the first two races of the season for him, he was released after the fifth race of the team because he could not pay his cockpit. At season's end, he finished 20th overall. In addition, he took part in eight races of the Dutch GT4 Championship and scored a victory with which he occupied the 23th place in the championship. In 2010 he started the season again in the Indy Lights. For starting HVM Racing, he was already exempted under the third race of the season. In the overall classification he was 19
