Junkers Ju 352

The Junkers Ju 352 Hercules was a three -engined transport aircraft of the German manufacturer Junkers aircraft and engine plants. My first flight took place at the airbase Fritzlar on August 18, 1943. This machine, with its three motors in low ceiling design was the successor to the Ju 252 that was not pursued due to the prevailing shortage of materials.

The aircraft was built in JFM in Dessau and at the airbase Fritzlar. The surviving sources give different numbers. JFM delivered 20 aircraft development from August 1943 to June 1944 and 26 series aircraft from June to August 1944 (Source: JFM - sales documents from the National Archives, Washington). The monthly aircraft deliveries (Source: BAL decreases from the Federal Archives - Military Archives Freiburg and the National Archives, Washington) mention 43 - BAL decreases in the period from November 1943 to September 1944 and applies only to pre-series and series aircraft. A compilation of December 1944 (Source: Federal Archives / Military Archives Freiburg) leads to 40 BAL acceptances (including nine of destroyed aircraft) until 30 November 1944.

The first two machines of the series production were used from July 1944 special combat unit KG 200. They also flew the Greater Transport Squadron from January 1945 and the FdF ( Squadron of the driver).

It is armed with two MG 151/20 were placed in a rotating turret on top of fuselage. Due to the war situation, these machines have been used only to a very limited extent.
