Jura-Museum
The Jura - Museum Eichstätt is on the Willibaldsburg over the Altmühltal located natural history museum of the State Natural History Collections in Bavaria.
Exhibition
The exhibitions focus on the fossils of the Solnhofen limestone, which dates back to a tropical reef and lagoon landscape of the Jura. Among the many well-preserved fossils is also a stock of previously known only in ten copies Archaeopteryx, which is devoted to the issue of aircraft has its own exhibition space with other exhibits. On display is also a so-called " sacred bird of Confucius".
Aquariums allow the comparison of fossils with live animals; it will be shown real " living fossils " such as nautilus ( Nautilus), horseshoe crabs and gars.
One of the founders of the museum is the Eichstätter Professor Franz Xaver Mayr.
