Juraj Beneš
Juraj Beneš ( born March 2, 1940 in Trnava; † 1 October 2004 in Bratislava) was a Slovak composer, teacher and pianist.
Beneš studied at the Academy of Performing Arts ( Vysoká škola muzických Umění ) in Bratislava, among others, Ján Cikker, one of the most important Slovak composers. Since 1983 he has taught as a lecturer at the same university.
Beneš oriented in his work to current compositional directions. His oeuvre includes all genres, with Beneš ' operas occupy a prominent position. The human voice he sometimes uses in conjunction with unusual combinations of instruments.
