Juraj Neidhardt

Juraj Neidhardt (* October 15, 1901 in Zagreb, † 13 July 1979, Sarajevo) was a Yugoslav architect.

Life

He studied until 1924 with Peter Behrens at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna architecture, then worked in Zagreb, and from 1930 to 1932 in Behrens ' Berlin studio. 1933 to 1935 he was in Paris staff of Le Corbusier. From 1938 he lived in Sarajevo, where he became in 1953 a professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University.

He was a member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts, and since 1978 member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1963.

Structures

Among the known structures, the Juraj Neidhardt has designed include the Faculty of Philosophy building (1955-1959) and chemistry (1959-1964) at the University of Sarajevo, Hotel Metalurg in Zenica, as well as the parliament building in Sarajevo ( 1955-1979 ). He was also involved in much of the reconstruction of the old town of Sarajevo ( Baš - Čaršija ).
