Jürgen Luginger ( born December 8, 1967 in Ergolding ) is a former German football player and current football coach.

Career

He played 1987-2004 a total of 84 times in the first and 370 times in the Second Bundesliga. Here he succeeded in four or 13 goals. The greatest success in Lugingers career was in 1987, sixth place with Bayer Leverkusen.

In 2004 he finished his playing career at first and coached briefly red -Weiß Oberhausen. In March 2006 Luginger returned as manager for KFC Uerdingen 05, where he completed more games as player-coach. From June 2007 to April 2008, he was sports director at the then third division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. In 2008 he took the second division promoted as coach of Hans -Günter Bruns. This he handed over on 1 February 2010 after a long losing streak again to Hans -Günter Bruns.

Since July 1, 2010 Luginger head coach was the third league promoted 1.FC Saarbrücken. With the FCS he reached the 6th place and qualified for the main round of the DFB - Cup 2011/12 in the 2010/11 season. On September 5, 2013 Luginger was released after a 2-3 home defeat against 1 FC Heidenheim from his duties as head coach. At the time of his dismissal ranked his team with 4 points from 7 games ranked 18th in the table. In February 2014 he took over the U -23 Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
