Jürgen Schreiber (journalist)

Jürgen Schreiber ( born January 30, 1947 in Heilbronn ) is a German reporter and investigative journalist.

Life and work

For over 30 years writer is a reporter. Activities he was at this time mainly for the Stuttgarter Zeitung and the Frankfurter Rundschau. As an author, he was also represented several times in the GEO Magazines, Sports, Merian and the Time magazine. In addition, he was one of the founding members of the now-defunct weekly newspaper The Week. As a reporter, he was temporarily at the SZ magazine. Since 1999 he works for the Berlin Tagesspiegel and since 2001 where he worked as the chief reporter. In connection with the case Gäfgen he has uncovered the threat of torture against the then accused Magnus Gäfgen.

2005 Schreiber published the book A painter from Germany, which revealed the family drama of the internationally renowned German painter Gerhard Richter. Scribe revealed that the judge painted a famous portrait of Aunt Marianne Aunt Marianne Schoenfelder was not only murdered by Nazi doctors, but that his own father, Prof. Dr. Heinrich Eufinger, ( unbeknownst to Gerhard Richter ) as Lieutenant Colonel of the SS in the sterilization of mentally disabled people played a key role.

A book about the common Frankfurter years with Joschka Fischer is beginning of September 2007 appeared. His book about Monika Ertl in 2009 received mixed reviews.
