Jurica Jerković

Jurica Jerković ( born February 25, 1950 in Split, at the time: SFR Yugoslavia, now Croatia), real first name Jure, is a former Yugoslav football player.

The midfielder was part of the so-called " golden generation " ( kroat. zlatna Generacija ) of the 1970s the club Hajduk Split.

Career

For the first time he played in the 1968/69 season for Hajduk in the first Yugoslav League and was with the " whites" in the following years three times Yugoslav champion and won five times the Yugoslav Cup. In 1978 he moved to FC Zurich in Switzerland, and was there a time Swiss champion and three times voted the best foreign footballers in Switzerland. In 1985 he changed to FC Lugano in Ticino before, to end his career in the National League second-rate B.

For the national team of Yugoslavia Jerković debuted on 12 April 1970 in Belgrade against Hungary, when he came on in the break. He played in the 1974 World Cup in Germany and in the European Championship finals in 1976 in Yugoslavia. In addition he was at the 1982 World Cup squad of Yugoslavia, but was not used.

In total, he completed 43 games for Yugoslavia, scoring six goals.
