Jussi Veikkanen ( born March 29, 1981 in Riihimäki ) is a Finnish racing driver.

Career

In his younger years Veikkanen drove Cyclocross and was in the sport in 1998 and 1999 Finnish junior champion. As he drove the team Mälarenergi 2003, he became Finnish Champion on the road in the elite class. Then he came to the espoir ( U23 Men ) of the VC Roubaix in France.

After a year in which Veikkanen showed good performances and the Grand Prix Marbriers won, he moved to the ProTour team Française des Jeux. In 2005 he repeated winning the league title in Finland. At the start of the 2006 season, he won the race Gabonese La Tropicale Amissa Bongo Ondimba. On 2 July 2006, he became Finnish Champion in Rovaniemi again. On August 23, he won the second stage of the Tour du Poitou -Charentes.

On 4 September 2008 he won the sixth stage of the Tour of Germany 189 km from Bad Fredeburg to Neuss.

In the 2009 Tour de France Veikkanen contributed from the third up to the sixth stage of the mountain jersey.
