Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier

Juste Aurèle Meissonier - (* 1695 in Turin, † July 31, 1750 in Paris) was a draftsman, painter, sculptor, goldsmith and architect of the French Rococo.

Life

Juste - Aurèle Meissonier Etienne learned from his father before he went to Paris. There he worked among others some years in the Gobelins manufactory. In September 1724 he received a royal Diploma of the goldsmiths ( brevet de la coopération des Marchands Orfèvres Joailliers ). 1726, he became the official Hofzeichner of Louis XV. ( Dessinateur de la Chambre et du Cabinet du Roi; successor to Jean Bérain the Younger, 1678-1726 ). The French court since he was for the court festivities (see Menus- Plaisirs du Roi ) responsible. He arranged in 1729, inter alia, the celebration including fireworks to celebrate the birth of the heir to the throne at Versailles. Meissonier was involved in the interior design of Castle Choisy and Palace of Fontainebleau.
