Justin Leonard

Justin Leonard ( born June 15, 1972 in Dallas, Texas) is an American professional golfer on the PGA TOUR. He belongs to the group of Major winner.

Career

After attending the University of Texas at Austin, a title win at the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1992 and the NCAA Championship in 1994 he became a professional golfer in this year.

In the 1996 season he won his first tournament on the PGA TOUR. The following year, the greatest success of his career, he managed the victory at the Open Championship at Royal Troon. Overall, Leonard has been eleven tournament victories stand on this important tournament series to book, including the highly doped Players Championship in 1998. A second Open Championship victory he missed in 1999 in Carnoustie only just the jump-off against the Scot Paul Lawrie.

He stood at the Presidents Cup five times and three times in the Ryder Cup team in the U.S.. Twice he represented his country at the World Cup and once in the Dunhill Cup.

Justin Leonard is married to his wife Amanda and has two daughters and a son. The family lives in his hometown of Dallas.
