Justine Greening

Justine Greening ( born April 30, 1969 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire ) is a British politician, the Conservative Party, since 2005 member of the House of Commons for the constituency of Putney, and since October 14, 2011 Member in the Cabinet Cameron, first as Secretary of Transportation ( Secretary of State for Transport ), and since September 2012 as the Minister for International development Cooperation.

Life

After visiting the Oakwood Comprehensive School Justine Greening studied economics at the University of Southampton and then worked as an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, GlaxoSmithKline and Centrica.

In the general election of May 5, 2005, she was first elected as a candidate of the Conservative Party as a member in the House of Commons and represents there as a successor to the Labour Party politician Tony Colman since the constituency of Putney. Until the election of Chloe Smith at a by-election in 2009, she was the youngest female member of Parliament, the Tories.

After the electoral victory of the Conservative Party in the general election on 6 May 2010, it was economic secretary to the Treasury (Economic Secretary to the Treasury). As Defence Secretary Liam Fox was advised and resigned because of the mixing of private and professional contacts in the criticism, it was 2011 successor to Transport Minister Philip Hammond, who in turn was the successor to Fox in the office of Minister of Defence on 14 October. Justine Greening is thus currently the fifth Minister what is seen as a sign that the Conservatives want to regain the falling support among female voters. Her successor as economic secretary to the Treasury Chloe Smith was.

One of her first duties as transport minister will be the reassurance of an internal party "rebellion" of backbenchers against the planned HS2 high speed system of British Rail. In addition, they will have to agree with Norman Baker on a common political line. Baker, a member of the coalition partner Liberal Democrats, is known as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for buses, taxis, pedestrians and cyclists as well as responsible for parking systems in the ministry, and so far as a man with his own ideas.
