Jutta Kirst

Jutta Kirst, born cabbage sausage ( born November 10, 1954 in Dresden ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympic medal winner, who - starting for the GDR - was in the 1970s and 1980s, a world leader in the high jump.

Life

Her biggest success is the third place at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow (1.94 m). They also launched, but without medal success at the European Championships 1978 ( fourth place: 1.93 m) and the European Championships 1982 ( fifth place: 1.94 m).

1975 and 1976 it was under her birth name Jutta herb sausage third in the GDR championships. In 1978, she GDR champion and 1981 and 1982 she jumped to second place. As a Best Jutta Kirst reached 1.97 m in 1982.

Kirst competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin and trained with Klaus Beer ( Olympic silver medalist in the long jump in 1968 ). In her playing days, she was 1.78 m tall and weighed 59 kg. In the becoming public knowledge after the fall of documents to the state doping in the GDR was found in the doped athletes also the name of Kirst.

She married Edgar Kirst, the brother of the decathlon European champion Joachim Kirst. Her daughter Kathleen Kirst, repeated German youth champion and seventh at the European Youth Championships in the high jump, ended due to an injury early on their sports career. Jutta Kirst has a degree in physical education teacher and was after their sports career employees at SC Dynamo Berlin. After the end of the GDR, she worked as a physiotherapist in Dresden.
