JYP Jyväskylä (short JYP ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey club based in Jyväskylä, which plays in the Liiga. The home arena of the team is the Synergia areena.
History
The club in 1923 as a general sports club under the name of Jyväskylä Palloilijat ( JYP ) was founded. 1977 split the Hockey department from the club and changed his name to JYP HT. In 1999, the game operation for the first team in a corporation, the JYP Jyväskylä Oy, outsourced. The team won the Finnish Championship in 2009 for the first time. Her biggest success were by then two runner-up title of the SM - liiga in 1989 and 1992.
