K Club

The Kildare Hotel and Golf Club ( The K Club ) is a golf and leisure complex in Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland, and was built on the grounds of the former Good Straffan House.

The K Club is one of four 5 - Red Star Hotels in Ireland ( Classification of The Automobile Association ). He also hosts two outstanding, designed by Arnold Palmer, golf courses:

  • The " Palmer Course ", which is also North Course or Old Course is referred to, and
  • The " Smurfit Course ," also called the New Course or South Course.

A top tournament of the European Tour - - On the Palmer Course, the Smurfit European Open was held from 1995 to 2007 (except 2004, when the event took place at the Smurfit Course ).

From 22 to 24 September 2006, at the Palmer Course of the Ryder Cup - the first time in Ireland - organized.
