K. N. Toosi University of Technology

The KN Toosi University of Technology ( KNTU; German KN Toosi University of Technology ) is an Iranian university in Tehran. It was named after the medieval scholar Khajeh Nasir Toosi ( 1201-1274 ).

History

1928 under the name " College of Telecommunications " ( دانشکده مخابرات ) founded on the orders of Reza Shah Pahlavi, the KNTU one of the oldest engineering colleges of the country. 1955, the University was expanded further under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. There were also a Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying, which were supplemented in 1973 by a Department of Mechanical Engineering. After the Islamic Revolution, the university was named after the Shiite scholar Nasir al-Din al - Tusi and extended by the Faculty of Science, Engineering and work Aeronautics and Astronautics.
