Kabang District

Amphoe Kabang ( Thai: อำเภอ กา บัง ) is the westernmost district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of Yala Province. The Yala province is located southeast of the southern region of Thailand, at the border to Malaysia.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from north-west clockwise): Amphoe Saba Yoi in the province of Songkhla and Amphoe Yaha in Yala province. In the south of the state of Kedah is Malaysia.

History

The name Kabang is a Thai adaptation of " Kabae " or " Kabe ", the original Malay name. " Kabae " or " Kabe " is a kind of rambutan tree.

Kabang was on 1 April 1991 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the area of ​​today's district was separated from Amphoe Yaha. On October 11, 1997 Kabang got the full Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Kabang is divided into two subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 17 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
