Kabelvåg

Kabelvåg is a village in the municipality Vågan in Lofoten. 2012 the village had 1712 inhabitants.

Kabelvåg goes Øystein Magnusson back, the built there in 1103, a church and a few fishermen's huts. According to the Heimskringla, however, the first city in Northern Norway was ever founded several centuries earlier in this region, which bore the name VAGAR.

Most important economic activities are fishing and tourism. Tourist attractions include the LOFOTAKVARIET, the kirke Galleri Espolin that Lofotmuseet and Vågan.
