The Kabenau (also Gabina or St. Augustin River ) is a river in Papua New Guinea, which was discovered in 1887 by the geologist C. Schneider and 1888 explored in depth by Hugo Zöller.

The Kabenau rises in the Finisterre Mountains. It flows initially in a westerly, then in a north-easterly direction. The lake forms the border between the Finisterre Mountains in the north, and the Krätke and Bismarck Mountains in the south. A few kilometers west of Rimba ( Erimba, formerly Constantinople port ) opens the Kabenau in the Astrolabebai.
