Kabyle people

The Kabyle ( proper name ⵍ ⴾ ⴱ ⴰ ⵉ ⵍ Iqvayliyen; Arab القبائل, DMG al - ʾ il Qaba, tribes ') are a living in northeast Algeria in the Kabylia Berber language group. Their language is Kabyle. The ethnic group has about four million members, about half of which is abroad, mainly to France, emigrated.

Language

The Kabyle language is spoken in both the private and the professional -professional context. The Kabyles bring on a great pride for their language and often oppose the Arabic. French is used as a trade language.

Religion

The religion is predominantly Sunni Muslim. However, it remains a small Christian minority, which plays a subordinate role. Their share is lower than that of the non-religious. The two strongest parties in the region, which together combine 80 % of the votes, however, are emphasized secular.

Economy

The traditional economy is dominated by agriculture and crafts, many Kabyles hire themselves out as mountain farmers. Increasingly, however, settled also in industry in the region.
