[Note 1] During the conference, the participants agreed that this was the best alternative, the identity crisis to encounter either as Kadazan or Dusun designating ethnic groups, since the politicization of disagreement of the two ethnic groups in the 1960s, the growth and development of the multi - ethnic Kadazan - Dusun community had weakened and disabled in socio - cultural, economic and political terms.

On this basis, decided the United Sabah Dusun Association ( USDA) and the Kadazandusun Cultural Association ( KDCA ) that in local schools to teaching language ( Pupils ' Own Language - POL ) is called the Kadazandusun language, and mainly from the Bundu Liwaan dialect should consist of bonds from the other Kadazandusun dialects. At the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS ) is a Department of Kadazandusun has been set to the cultural heritage of the Kadazan - Dusun to explore thorough and documented. The university also offers courses in Kadazandusun to as an elective, which enjoy great popularity especially among foreign students.
