Kae Dam District

Amphoe Kae Dam ( Thai อำเภอ แกดำ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Maha Sarakham. The Maha Sarakham Province is located in the center of northeast Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Kae Dam borders the following districts (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Wapi Pathum to the Maha Sarakham and Mueang Maha Sarakham province, as well as Amphoe Si Somdet Province Roi Et

History

Kae Dam was born on January 3, 1977 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three tambon Kae Dam, Nong Kung and Mittraphap Amphoe Mueang were separated from Maha Sarakham. On January 1, 1988, he was then promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Kae Dam is divided into five communities ( tambon), which in turn in 89 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Kae Dam ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แกดำ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Kae Dam,
  • Mittraphap ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มิตรภาพ ), consisting of the whole tambon Mittraphap.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
