Kaeng Khoi District
Amphoe Kaeng Khoi ( Thai: อำเภอ แก่งคอย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northeastern province of Saraburi. Saraburi is located in the central region of Thailand, Amphoe Kaeng Khoi around 10 km north of the provincial capital of Saraburi.
Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Phatthana Nikhom Lopburi Province, Amphoe Muang and Amphoe Wang Muak Lek of Saraburi province, Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Nayok and the Ban Na of Nakhon Nayok and Amphoe Wihan Daeng, Amphoe Mueang Saraburi and Amphoe Chaloem Phra Kiat turn in Saraburi.
In the district lie the western foothills of Khao Yai National Park, also the Chet Khot Pong Kon Sao Nature Study Centre with numerous waterfalls located here.
Economic importance and
In Kaeng Khoi, a strong 1,600 MW combined cycle power plant is built, which will be operational in 2007. In the spring of 2005, there were in the city to controversy and protests in relation to the planning of this facility. In particular, the opponents criticized the abstraction of water for power plant cooling from the river Pasak.
The county Kaeng Khoi in 1827 and set up called Kaeng Khoi Khwaeng, the administration building was in Ban Tan Diao. 1897 Khwaeng was converted into a Amphoe, and then the administration building was moved from the banks of the Pasak River to the nearby railway Kaeng Khoi in 1915.

Amphoe Kaeng Khoi is divided into 14 subdistricts (tambon ) divided, of which the largest area of Tan Diao extends over the entire south. The municipalities are still in 116 village communities ( Muban ) divided.
There are two small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):
- Kaeng Khoi ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง แก่งคอย ) is composed of the Tambon,
- Thap Kwang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทับ กวาง ) is composed of the Tambon.
In addition, there are twelve administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
