Kaevatsi laid is an Estonian Baltic Sea island on the so-called Väinameri. It is located east of the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German and Swedish Dagö ).

Location and description

The island Kaevatsi ( Kaevatsi laid ) is 2.6 km long and in the north to 720 meters wide. It has an area of ​​1.4 square kilometers. The northern part of the island rises up to 7.7 meters above the sea level. Administratively Kaevatsi laid part of the village Sarve in the rural community Pühalepa.

The island lies 250 meters from the top of Sarve peninsula. The islands Kaevatsi laid and laid Saarnaki form a natural protection for the entrance to the harbor of Sarve. The sea between the peninsula and laid Kaevatsi is shallow. At times it is possible to reach the island on foot.
