Kahle Wart

The open air theater Kahle Wart lies at an altitude of about 286 meters on the mountain Kahle Wart in Wiehengebirge in the municipality of Hüllhorst ( and here in the community part Oberbauerschaft ) in the East-Westphalian district of Minden - Luebbecke in North Rhine -Westphalia. On the outdoor stage plays are mainly in the Low German dialect listed ( June 1 to August 31 ) organized and folk music concerts.

History

The outdoor stage was on June 6, 1948 by home club Oberbauerschaft eV under a performance of the village chapel and the folk dance and recorder group inaugurated. The premiere of the first play, "If de Hahn kreiht " took place on 13 June 1948.

Today

About the site leads the Wittekindsweg leading from Osnabrueck to Porta Westfalica and has a length of about 95 kilometers. Therefore, the striking point target and the starting point for many hikers and walkers.

The stage buildings consist of half-timbered houses that carry Torbogeninschriften from earlier centuries. The entire open-air stage is now accessible to the disabled. Disabled and wheelchair users can move freely accessible.
