Kaibab National Forest

The Kaibab National Forest is a National Forest in the U.S. state of Arizona, which borders the Grand Canyon and is under the administration of the United States Forest Service. The forest has an area of 6,500 km ².

The Kaibab National Forest is divided by the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon in two areas: the North Kaibab Ranger District and the South Kaibab Ranger District. The southern part is in turn divided into the Tusayan Ranger District and the Williams Ranger District. South Kaibab has an area of ​​3683 km ², North Kaibab 2616 km ². The forest extends from an altitude of 1,676 m in the southwest up to an altitude of 3,175 m on Kendrick Peak in the Williams Ranger District. The Kaibab National Forest is also the Red Butte Mountain, which is considered by the Havasupai Indians as a sacred site.
