Kaibun

Kaibun (Japanese回文, rotating set) are the Japanese equivalent of Satzpalindroms. It is a sentence that is spoken forwards and backwards the same - but with reference to the Japanese syllabary, not to the letter of the Western romanization.

Examples

  • Shinbunshi (しんぶんし:新闻纸): " newsprint "
  • Takeyabu yaketa (たけやぶ やけ た:竹薮 焼け た): "The bamboo grove has burned. "
  • Wa -ta- shi - ma ke -ma- shi -ta- wa (私 負け まし た わ): "I have lost. "
  • Co -na -n he- n na ko (コナン 変な子): " Conan, a strange boy " (the name of an episode of the Japanese anime Detective Conan ).
  • Na -ru -to where to- ru -na (なると を 取る な): "Take not my Naruto ( also a Japanese manga ). "
  • Shi -na -mo -n pa -n mo re -mo -n pa -n mo na -shi (シナモン パン も レモンパン も 無し) - " There is neither cinnamon bread or lemon bread. "
  • Yo -no- na -ka, ka - ho -ho -ka na -no- yo (世の中,ホカホカ な の よ): "The world is a warm place. "
