Kaiji Kawaguchi

Kaiji Kawaguchi (Japaneseかわぐち かいじ, actually川口 开 治, Kawaguchi Kaiji, born July 27, 1948 in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture) is a Japanese manga artist, in Germany especially with the manga series Eagle, a political thriller was about the presidential candidacy of a Japanese immigrant in the United States of America known.

Life

Kaiji Kawaguchi studied at Meiji University in Tokyo. His drawing style is detailed and realistic, his works consist for its attention to detail, even in complex contexts and because of the unusual topics from other manga from.

The works of Kaiji Kawaguchi are his manga for an older audience and often deal with the problems of morally correct behavior of people in extreme situations. This explains about in The Silent Service, the commander of a nuclear-armed submarine, the ship on its maiden voyage to the independent territory.

Awards

Kaiji Kawaguchi received several awards for his work. He was honored for his series Spirit of the Sun in 2006 with the 51st Shogakukan Manga Award in the main category. Three times he received the Kodansha Manga Award, 1987, 1990 and 2002.
