Kaiseregg

The Kaiseregg home mountain of Senseoberland country

The Kaiseregg is a 2185 m high mountain in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is part of the Fribourg Pre-Alps and is located in the municipality of Plaffeien ( Sensebezirk ) in the district Schwarzsee. A little west of the summit, the Canton border is the county line to Greyerzbezirk (municipality Jaun ), just east of the canton of Bern (municipality Gstaad ).

The west Kaiseregg located Schwarzsee ( Black Lake ) is often the starting point for a hike on this mountain. The first height meters can also be saved on the chairlift Riggisalp. It belongs to the Kaisereggbahnen the open up the northwest flank in winter with a chair lift and ski slopes. The first ski lift on the Kaiseregg dates from the year 1956, the second on the right followed by the first 7 years later. In the summer of 2011, the two ski lifts have been replaced by a detachable 4-seater chairlift.
