Kaituozhe-1

The KT -1 ( Kaituozhe 1, Chinese 1 for explorers, including SLV -1) is a Chinese launcher. She has not played any successful flight.

Development

The development of the KT -1 started in May 2000 by the Chinese company Space Solid Fuel Rocket Carrier Co., Ltd.. The plan was a little rocket for small satellites of up to 100 kg mass on the basis of the intercontinental ballistic missile Dongfeng 31 (DF -31). Since all four stages operate with solid-fuel engines, eliminating the need for refueling equipment at the launch pad.

The name Kaituozhe 1 received the project officially launched on 7 November 2000. The design was confirmed in the 16th November 2000.

Previous flights

The first launch attempt took place at the cosmodrome Taiyuan on 15 September 2002. The second stage but failed. The 50- kg satellite HTSTL -1 was lost.

The second launch attempt took place on 16 September 2003, also in Taiyuan. This time, denied the fourth stage, so that the 40- kg satellite PS- 2 could not be brought into the orbit.
