Kakkmaddafakka

Kakkmaddafakka is a Norwegian indie - pop band, founded in Bergen in 2004. The music style of the band is a mix of rock, rap, disco and pop.

History

The two brothers Axel and Pål Vindenes came with their school friends Jonas Nielsen and Stian Sævig on at a youth center in Norway and by the positive evaluation, the band received, they soon gave concerts all over Norway. The first EP of the band was titled Already Your Favourite EP and was released in 2006.

The first album of the band, Down to Earth, was released in 2007 and proved to be a success despite negative criticism, so the band gained prominence, especially in her native Norway. The band is one of those groups that emerged from the " New Bergen Wave" - a move that, according to the Norwegian press, many new artists brought forth.

Since 2008 Kakkmaddafakka has played at numerous festivals, this included the Iceland Airwaves, Openair St. Gallen, Montreux Jazz Festival, Euro Sonic Festival and CMJ Music Marathon. The German festivals were the Melt, Dockville, Abifestival, Highfield Festival, Area4, Immergut Festival, Southside Festival, Hurricane Festival 2012 and the Juicy Beats Festival in 2012. 2013 they played at the Rock am Ring Festival and Rock im Park festival in Nuremberg. They also played in June 2013 on the JUWI Festival in Münster in July 2013 on the Appletree Garden Festival in Diepholz.

In 2011 they released their second studio album under the name Hest with the previously released single Restless.

The third album called Six Months Is a Long Time was released on 28 June 2013.

Kakkmaddafakka stood as Mainact on 18 August 2013 Line -Up of the Hamburg MS Dockville festivals. Prior to the appearance keyboardist Jonas Nielsen had to be hospitalized with serious heart problems to the hospital, so the band had to cancel your appearance and was replaced by the Icelandic band FM Belfast.
