Kalamatianos

Kalamatianos is an old Greek folk dance. Its special feature is the 7/8-Takt long with the rhythm, short, short in proportion 3:2:2. A Kalamatianos basic sequence of steps is danced to 4 bars and coincides with the musical phrase match. With guitar music, one counts the most: One, Two, Three; One, two; One, two. The simplest notation made ​​by a dotted quarter note ( = long) followed by 2x two quavers ( = short, short). While the notation is varied for short very rarely, one finds for long also: quarter eighth, dotted eighth sixteenth eighth and dotted eighth three-sixteenths.

The number of known in Germany Kalamatianos title is extremely low. A title with greater awareness comes from the children's songwriter Fredrik Vahle, of a Greek song with a German text as " Kawuras, the cancer "; published (MID 1 kB).
