Kalamos ( Attica ) (Greek Κάλαμος Αττικής ) is a town about 45 km north of Athens. It belongs to the region of Attica, whose capital is Athens. Kalamos 1912 received the status of a rural community ( kinotita ). 1920, the settlement Agii Apostoli was recognized on the coast as part of the community. In 2006, an upgrade the municipality to municipality Kalamos ( dimos ).
On January 1, Kalamos the community Oropus was incorporated, in which it forms a municipality and a town at the same time, so choose a local representation within the community.
