The Devau airport near Königsberg was the first German civilian transport airport and one of the first traffic airports in the world. Today it belongs to the Russian Kaliningrad. It has been used for the construction of the airport in Kaliningrad Khkabrovo Khkabrovo ( Powunden ) after the Second World War only by sports airmen. The remains of the former administration building uses the Kaliningrad Sportflieger Club.
Name
The name is derived from the Old Prussian Devau " deywis " (God) and refers to an ancient pagan worship.
Location
The airport is named after the place Devau, today Rischskoje ( Рижское ) named. It is located 2.5 km north-east of Königsberg at the former Labiauer road today Yuri Gagarin Street ( Ул. History
