Scale is the city district 8 of Cologne. It includes the districts of Brück, mountain height, Humboldt / Gremberg, lime, Merheim, Neubrückenstraße, Ostheim, Rath / Heumar and Vingst.

The municipality was founded 8 as part of a local reorganization on January 1, 1975, is named after its most populous district of lime. In the days of old postal code system, the neighborhoods of the district under 5000 Cologne 91 were incorporated.

Location

The municipality is bordered to the north by the district of Mülheim, on the east by the cities of Bergisch Gladbach and Rösrath, to the south by the Municipality Porz and to the west with the Deutz district of downtown.

Bezirksrathaus

In 1992 the new district Town Hall was opened (architect Gottfried Böhm, Cologne). In the building are out of the premises of the district council following public authorities and institutions:

Lime square

In 2003, the lime square was opened. The building should initially accommodate both urban and private companies. Lack of interest from the private sector can be found today is almost entirely municipal offices there.
