Kalle Keituri

Kalle Keituri ( born April 25, 1984 in Lahti ) is a Finnish ski jumper.

Career

Keituri began in 1990 with the ski jumping. For the first time internationally in appearance, he joined the Continental Cup competition on 17 November 2001 in Kuusamo, where he immediately jumped into the points with a 23rd place. His first podium finish in the Continental followed on 12 January 2002 at the competition in Bischofshofen, two weeks later he won at the Junior World Cup in Schonach the bronze medal in singles.

On 1 March 2002, he debuted at the Lahti Ski Games in the World Cup, reached at the race on his home hill, the Salpausselkä hill, with room 19 at first World Cup points. However, it took until the 2004/2005 season until he could bverzeichnen as a World Cup bet per season more. This season, he set up his personal best when he was on 19 March 2005 at the Slovenian Planica a flight to 205.5 meters. Also in the following winters, the Finn had repeatedly suffered only sporadic inserts in the World Cup, considered after the end of the 2007/2008 season even before his resignation. Only in the 2008/2009 season, he became an integral member of the World Cup teams, reached with the team his first two World Cup victories, one of them a "half - his home " ground, as the Finnish team on 15 February 2009, the team ski flying in Oberstdorf won. His first victory with the team had already celebrated 29 November 2008 in Kuusamo Keituri. His best individual result dated 31 January 2009, when he finished fourth at the World Cup in Sapporo, Japan. His first full World Cup season, he finished in 21st place in the World Cup. On 25 September 2010 he won the Finnish championship in Lahti on the large hill.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 he reached the 22th place in jumping on the normal hill. 2011 News about a possible career end were known. How Keituri shortly thereafter, however, announced that he will indeed focus in the future next to the ski jumping on to study design, but also continues to be active as a ski jumper.

Keituri is married to a German. The couple has lived since October 2011 at the Swiss valley in the canton of St. Gallen. He started with a double club membership, was a member of both the club of his hometown of Lahti, Lahti the Hiihtoseura as well as the SC Oberstdorf. Since 2012 he start for the resident in Rovaniemi Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura, but will remain a member of the SC Oberstdorf, for which he, however, not permitted to compete in international competitions in his own words due to his membership in the Finnish Ski Association.
