Kalmthout is a municipality in the Belgian province of Antwerp with 18 126 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012), of which 1589 Dutch are. It includes the four villages Kalmthout village, Heath, Achterbroek and Nieuwmoer.

Kalmthout located at three stations: Heath, Kalmthout and Kijkuit, on a railway track between Antwerp and Essen ( Belgium) on the Dutch border. Both Heath and Kalmthout have retained their old station building.

The three members of the Flemish folk group Laïs come from Kalmthout. The Arboretrum by Jelena and Robert Belder in Kalmthout is one of the most important gardens in Belgium. In the garden, the English garden architect Russell Page were buried.
