The Cold hostel at Hall Garden in the Hessian Rheingau- Taunus-Kreis is a 619.3 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Taunus. It is part of the Taunus mountains main ridge ( High Taunus) and for dominance (17 km to the next higher elevation on Salzkopf ( 627.6 m) in the west of the Rhine Bingen Forest ) and prominence (269 m above the saddle at Niederseelbach ) the second most important mountain in the Taunus and the highest mountain in the entire Rheingau mountains, the western section of the High Taunus.

Geographical location

The Cold hostel is located in the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park. While her biggest part is in the district of the City Hall garden Oestrich- angle, count their north-eastern parts of the municipal territory of Eltville; about 10 km southwest lies Rüdesheim am Rhein. History

North of the summit ridge runs the historically significant border between the Rheingau and Untertaunus. Thus passed here since the Middle Ages for centuries the Rheingau Gebück. Transport and Hiking
