The Cold Vltava ( Czech Studena Vltava ) is the true source of the river Vltava in Bavaria and the Czech Republic.

It arises in the Bavarian Forest north of Bramandlberges ( 991 m ) and the deer mountain ( 881 m) at the confluence of Bonanza creek and Roth Bach. The river leads to the east by Haidmuehle on the Bohemian border to Nové Údolí ( Neuthal ) and then continue on Stožec ( Tusset ) and Černý Kříž ( Black Cross ) to the east.

In Chlum ( Humwald ), district of the city Volary ( Wallern ), it unites with the Teplá Vltava ( Moldau warm ) to Vltava (Moldau ).
